The International Diplomatic Union (IDU) has formally signed a partnership agreement with the International Youth Council (IYC), New York, establishing a comprehensive framework for cooperation between the two organisations. Through this agreement, IDU will support IYC in organising conferences, training programmes, seminars, and global events; designing and implementing joint projects aligned with the missions of ICO, IDU, UNN, and IYC; producing and disseminating reports, media content, research, and educational materials; and advancing humanitarian, cultural, diplomatic, and youth‑focused initiatives. A key component of the partnership includes the establishment of a Joint Academy for Young Diplomats, dedicated to training and empowering the next generation of global leaders.
The International Youth Council (IYC) is a Non‑Government Organisation founded at the Youth Assembly at the United Nations in 2007 and holds Special Consultative Status with the UN ECOSOC. As a global platform for Inclusive and Sustainable Youth Development, the IYC brings together young people from all walks of life—regardless of religion, colour, or gender—to speak up for the benefit of humanity. The organisation fosters an environment where young people’s voices are heard, appreciated, and acted upon, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to social, economic, and environmental progress worldwide. Through this partnership, IDU and IYC aim to strengthen youth participation in diplomacy, expand global leadership pathways, and jointly champion initiatives that advance peace, cooperation, and human development.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, IDU President Dr. Faisal Almutairi stated that this partnership reflects IDU’s commitment to supporting multilateral institutions and contributing to a more structured, professional approach to global diplomacy. The agreement is renewable on an annual basis and will be reviewed by a joint committee of IDU and IYC Headquarters.
